Sunnahs that can be done during winter – Sunday 11th Dec. 2011
Anas (Radia Allaahu ‘anhu) said: “The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to offer the Salat earlier if it was very cold and if it was very hot, he (Salla Allaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to delay (Dhuhur) prayer till it becomes (a bit) cooler. ” [Bukhari and authenticated by al-Albani]
Al Manawi said: “Offering the Dhuhur prayer earlier, i.e. in its early started time.”
The Friday and congregational prayer might be cancelled in winter if one is troubled by rain that wets the clothes and faced difficulty or mud or snow or very cold wind.
Narrated Ibn Umar (Radia Allaahu ‘anhu) that Allah’s Messenger (Salla Allaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) asked the Muadh-dhin (caller of the prayer) to pronounce Adhan for the salaat (prayer) and then said at the end, “Pray at your homes or camps.” This can be done if it was a very cold or rainy night during the journey.
