The Names of Allah: Al-Hakam, Al-Haakim & Al-Hakeem – Part 14 (3 of 3) – Sunday 28th April, 2013
Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) tells us in the Qur’aan about His attributes but we need to contemplate the verses of the Qur’aan and not just recite blindly. Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) created everything based on His Perfect Wisdom. The more you contemplate about the creation of Allaah the more your faith will increase in Him.
In Surah Al-Maa’idah, there is the story of the two sons of Adam (‘Alayhis-salaam). When one of them killed the other, Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) sent a crow to show him how to bury his brother. Allaah is Al-Hakeem. There is wisdom behind why He sent the crow and not any other bird.
It is proven by studies on animal behaviour that the Crow by nature has courts and every crime has a particular punishment. One of which is harming the criminal crow, with their beaks until death, if the crime was an aggression against a female crow of another male crow. The criminal crow is then buried. The crow is the only bird among animals that bury its dead. [Taken from ‘Ijaaz Al Ilm Al Hayawanaat by Dr. Zaghloul el-Najjar]
Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) said in many verses that He created the Heavens and the Earth with truth, the truth to know Allah and His Perfect Attributes.
Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) said in Surah An’am (6: 73):
It is He Who has created the Heavens and the Earth in truth, and on the Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) He will say: “Be!”, – and it shall become. His Word is the truth. His will be the dominion on the Day when the trumpet will be blown. All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the All-Wise, Well-Aware (of all things).
Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) is All-Able to resurrect us. The evidence that He is able to do so is that He is the one who created the Heavens and the Earth.
1) Surah Yunus (10: 5):
It is He Who made the sun a shining thing and the moon as a light and measured out its (their) stages, that you might know the number of years and the reckoning. Allaah did not create this but in truth. He explains the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail for people who have knowledge.
Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) who is able to create us, is able to resurrect us again and take us into account. This verse also emphasizes the Ability of Allaah.
2) Surah Ibrahim (14: 19):
”Do you not see that Allaah has created the Heavens and the earth with truth? If He will, He can remove you and bring (in your place) a new creation!”
This verse also indicates Allaah’s Ability as He is able to bring a new creation other than you.
These verses indicate that Allaah is Al-Hakeem; everything that He brought into existence is based on wisdom. Every verse that has, ‘In truth or Bil Haqq’, is an evidence for Allaah’s Hikmah. Whenever you see this term you must look for what Allaah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta’aala) is emphasizing in that verse.
