Sincerity and Du’a – 22nd April, 2012

Knowledge is an act of worship which requires sincerity. Even loving each other, visiting each other, sitting together, spending for the sake of Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala), requires sincerity. These are all acts that we do regularly, but what matters is how sincere we are in doing them. We visit each other regularly, but how sincere are we when doing it

Abu Hurairah (rahimahullaah) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (salla Allaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) saying, “Whosoever visits an ailing person or a brother of his to seek the Pleasure of Allah, an announcer (Angel) calls out: `May you be happy, may your walking be blessed, and may you be awarded a dignified position in Jannah (paradise).’ [At-Tirmidhi].

Another matter that requires sincerity is feeding. Women love to cook and feed.  Sisters, this habit can be turned into worship if you do it with sincerity.

Allah says in Surat Al Insan, verse 8-10:

“And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,”

“[Saying], “We feed you only for the Countenance of Allah . We wish not from you reward or gratitude.”

“Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful. Read the rest of this entry
