The facts about the unseen related to the act of worship we are performing should be alive in our hearts. We should have belief in all the matters of the unseen related to Ramadhan, as well as hope for the reward from Allah. Mere abstinence from food and drink without faith is fruitless. This depends on how soft the heart is.
“Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven.”
In order to attain the promised reward from Allah our actions should be based upon belief with sincerity and hope.

“The reward of deeds depend on the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended.” [Al-Bukhari: 1/1/1]
As the Month of Ramadan is now at our doors (May Allah make us benefit from this blessed month) let us maximize our reward and remind ourselves of the multiple rewards we can achieve in this blessed month just by making righteous intentions!
