The Name of Allaah, Ar-Razzaq (Part 4)

Recap

Allaah is the One that sustains and guarantees provision for all of creation. He provides for the believer and disbeliever; the enemy and the friend. He drives the means of earning to the weak who have no means. He is Ar-Razzaq who gives provision after provision; sustenance followed by sustenance. His providing has not ceased ever since He created the creation. His provision is of two kinds:

1) General Provision

This is for all of creation and it is the provision and nourishment of the body.

2) Special Provision

This is particular to the believers and it is the nourishment of the hearts with faith and knowledge. It is also inclusive of lawful earnings which aid the Religion of a person.

The Name of Allaah, Ar-Razzaq (Part 3)

If the slave wishes for his heart to be filled with the love and magnification of Allaah, he should learn more about Him. Knowledge about Allaah increases ones love and magnification of Him, and love and magnification are the pillars of deification. When love and magnification are present in the heart of a slave, he will confess لا إله إلا الله, and the deification of Allaah will be perfected in his heart.

The Name Ar-Razzaq is included in the name Al-Qayoom

Allaah is Al-Qayoom (The Self-Subsisting Who is eternal). He is the One Who stands in charge of every soul by bringing it to existence, sustaining it, protecting it, guiding it, etc. Because Al-Qayoom is the One Who stands in charge of the creation by creating and sustaining them, the Name Ar-Razzaq is included in the meaning of the Name Al-Qayoom.

The Name Ar-Razzaq is included in the Name Al-Malik

Al-Malik is the One Who owns the whole dominion and has full power over it without any opposition or resistance. He is attributed with perfect attributes and He disposes the affairs of His dominion with His perfect attributes: i.e. His perfect power, might, ability, knowledge, wisdom, executive will, compassion, mercy, etc.

All in His dominion are slaves to Him and belong to Him. They stand in need of Him and are compelled to seek His help in all their affairs. None can exit from His dominion and none can be self-sufficient aside from Him.  Read the rest of this entry

The Name of Allaah, Ar-Razzaq (Part 2)

  • If you know that Allaah is the All-Provider, you will live mentally stable in this life.

All of creation, without exclusion, live in this life enjoying the provision of Allaah. Ever since the human was in the womb of his mother, Allaah has been providing for him. The compassion of the parents towards the unborn baby is a provision from Allaah. There are some parents who have no compassion, so when you see that, you know this is a provision from Allaah. Even if someone visits you, that visit is a provision from Allaah. Both spiritual and materialistic matters are provisions from Allaah.

Many parents grow old and complain that their children do not visit them. One should realize that the visit of their children; their call, their care, is a provision from Allaah. If you understand Who Allaah is, you would not become upset with people.

Even the feelings of love, care and acceptance, are provisions from Allaah. There are people who are loved and accepted wherever they go, and there are others who are not liked wherever they go. If you understand that this love and acceptance are provisions from Allaah, you would be calm and not complain or be upset. The Name of Allaah, Ar-Razzaq (Part 1)

The importance of  studying Allaah’s Name Ar-Razzaq is the present time

During the Jahiliyyah (Days of Ignorance) before Islam, people used to kill their children out of fear of poverty. What made them do that? There was something important missing from their minds – and that is the concept of Rizq. Allaah says in Surat Al-Israa’ [17:30]:

We must believe in the fact that Allaah is the One Who gives and prevents. He is the One Who extends the provision to whomever He wills, and He is the One Who restricts it. If the people had understood this matter they would not have killed their children. Therefore, at the end of the verse, Allaah says:

إنه بعباده خبيرا بَصِيرا – Verily, He is Ever All-Aware, All-Seer of His slaves.

Allaah is All-Aware of His servants. He knows who deserves to have His Rizq broadened and who does not. He knows what suits everybody.

إنه = (The reason) التعليلية

I.e. Why does Allaah restrict it for some and extend it for some? Because He is All-Aware, All-Seer.

In verse 31:

“And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Surely, the killing of them is a great sin.” Read the rest of this entry
